*NOTE: When using the Canon R, R3, R5, and R6 mirrorless cameras with Profoto, Paul C Buff (other than the LINK), or Godox strobe, HSS (High Speed Sync) is only available using manual power levels, and TTL power levels up to your cameras X-Sync speed. However, when using PocketWizard FlexTT5 or FlexTT6 radios with Canon Speedlites, HSS can be used in either manual or TTL exposure modes.
Most strobe manufacturers do not offer an adequate adjustable valued pre-flash command for Canon mirrorless when using TTL mode. This results in a metering exposure error within the Canon mirrorless camera bodies. The FlexTT5 and FlexTT6 radios and the LINK can trigger the necessary pre-flash for proper TTL exposure. All remote flashes can be used with HSS in manual exposure settings as no pre-flash is required.
*The Paul C. Buff LINK is now compatible with TTL dynamic pre-flash and use of the PocketWizard FlexTT5 or FlexTT6 is not needed for shutter speeds over X-Sync.

Profoto strobes operate on a TTL-based operating protocol that allows the photographer to use TTL or Manual mode and allows for the ability to send exact power levels to the strobes. Why the AirTTL does not offer this is unknown, but this does give the Raven an advantage by offering this feature where the AirTTL fails to deliver.
However, within the Profoto TTL operating protocol there is a 4 stop power level limit that prevents power levels from exceeding more than 4 stops no matter if you are using TTL or Manual mode. Why this Profoto limitation exists is not quite known, but it makes sense that the AirTTL is only capable of only performing simple .1 or full stop adjustments. This 4 stop limit does create a limitation for the Raven since many photographers want more than a 4 stop range in their lighting. This issue exists in Dual Brand triggering when using Profoto and another strobe brand.
It is recommend to deactivate any zones that you are not using so the power level in that unused zone will not effect this 4 stop power limit.

Only PocketWizard radios using the E-Release firmware can be used as a receiver with the Raven. These radios can trigger most strobes and speedlights via the sync port on the PocketWizard device depending on the model, and can be used with the Raven’s SyncView feature, as well as, to trigger remote cameras.
